Broadening My Horizons

Okay, so today I made my trek to the library to check out some more summer reading. Lately, I've been reading a lot more chick books to fulfill my summer. However, I wanted to broaden my scope, read some more interesting authors. Koontz, Gaiman, Cussler, etc. Which posed this question to me: How can ALL of those authors' books be checked out at the same time?

Perplexed and unsure of what to do next, I, ultimately, was forced to go back to the authors that were my safe haven: Crusie, Foster, and McCarthy. Help! I am in desperate need of some reading recommendations!

Thanks!

I really like your blog. I was intrigued by your title and had to check it out.

If you are really looking for summer reading ideas, so far this summer I've read and enjoyed Mary Higgins Clark, Change of Heart and Beverly Lewis first book in her new series, The Secret. If you're not familiar with Lewis she writes fiction about the Amish. I just started Sarah's Keys by Tatiana de Rosnay and can tell already that I am going to enjoy it.

I'll be adding to my summer reading list based on your recommendations. Thanks

Hi! Thank you so much for posting. I'm happy that you found my blog. It's funny that you should mention Mary Higgins Clark. She was my first real author that got me in to reading. I've been reading her books ever since I was about 15 years old. I'm reading a book called Finding Me right now. It's...interesting. I'll have my review of it up soon. I definitely broadened my horizons with this book though. Is Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult?

Just Take My Heart is Mary Higgins Clark's newest book and the book I meant to list (Oops!). Although I did read and like Jodi Picoult's Change of Heart. Personally, I like most everything written by Jodi Picoult. Her latest is Handle with Care about a family with a child with osteogeneisis imperfecta (brittle bone disease) another good read. Picoult's next book, House Rules, is due in 2010.

I just finished Sarah's Keys - a very unique, sad story (fiction) based on a little Jewish girl's experience during the French occupation during WWII and the effect of her horrifying experience on a present day family. It was so good that I finished it in about 24 hours!

Did you read the Twilight series?

Now, the question for me is what to read next? So many books, so little time! (When is my next trip to the library?!?)

I have not yet read the twilight series and I heard it is extremely good.

I've been behind on Mary Higgins Clark. She was my first love and now I've left her. LOL Seriously though, I really do need to get back to reading her new ones.

The only ones that I have read of Picoult are Change of Heart (which was very good) and Keeping Faith. Keeping Faith was the book that got me hooked on her. I have Nineteen Minutes that I keep meaning to start. That will probably be my next one.
